The haze lifts in the Canary Islands leaving it hot and sunny

As forecast by Aemet, the haze has left the Canary Islands and this morning is a clear hot and sunny day across the archipelago, with temperatures of up to 34 degrees in parts, and gusts of wind up to 70 kilometres per hour on the east and northwest slopes and peaks of some of the islands.

There was a slight haze at altitude this morning which will be completely gone by midday, leaving skies with light cloud or clear, with more cloud this evening on the west coasts, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Here is the forecast for each of the islands:

GRAN CANARIA:
Cloudy intervals on the north coast this morning, clearing in central hours. In the rest of the island, slightly cloudy to clear. Temperatures will fall slightly, but maximums will still exceed 30ºC in the south and west (except for the southwest coast), and it is not ruled out that they will locally reach 34ºC inland.
Moderate northeast wind, being strong on southeast slopes and peaks, where gusts will occasionally reach 70 km/h. Breezes on southwestern and northern coasts.
Las Palmas: Max 24ºC, minimum 21ºC

TENERIFE:
Cloudy on the northeast coast, slightly cloudy to clear in the rest of the island. Moderate northeast wind, being strong on the southeast slopes and northwest tip, where there is a probability that gusts will occasionally reach 70 km/h. Mainly breezes on the west and north coasts.
Santa Cruz: Max 27ºC, minimum 22ºC

LANZAROTE:
Slightly cloudy or clear during the day, getting cloudier tonight in the north and west of the island. Temperatures will drop slightly, but is more significant in the interior and southern coasts.
Moderate to strong northeast wind mainly in the interior and south coasts.
Arrecife: Max 28ºC, minimum 20ºC

FUERTEVENTURA:
Very similar to Lanzarote, slightly cloudy or clear during the day, getting cloudier tonight in the north and west of the island. Temperatures will drop slightly, but is more significant in the interior and southern coasts.
Moderate to strong northeast wind mainly in the interior and south coasts.
Puerto del Rosario: Max 26ºC, minimum 21ºC

LA GOMERA:
On the northern coast it will be cloudy, clearing during the day. In the rest of the island, slightly cloudy to clear. Moderate north wind, being strong on east and northwest slopes and peaks, where gusts will reach 70 km/h. Breezes on the north and southwest coasts.
San Sebastian: Max 26ºC, minimum 22ºC

LA PALMA:
Cloudy on the northeast coast, but clear in the rest of the island. Slight haze at peaks in the early hours of the morning. Falling temperatures, more significant inland. Moderate northeast wind, being strong on the southeast slopes and northwest tip. Breezes on the west and northeast coasts.
Santa Cruz de La Palma: Max 25ºC, minimum 22ºC

EL HIERRO:
Little cloudy or clear throughout the island, with intervals of low clouds on the northeast coast. Moderate northeast wind, being strong on east slopes and northwest tip, where there is a probability that gusts will reach 70 km/h.
Valverde: Max 25ºC, minimum 19ºC
