Drugs gang arrested in Callao Salvaje in the south of Tenerife
Four people have been arrested in the south of Tenerife in a joint intervention by members of the Tax Agency and the Guardia Civil in which more than 240 kilos of hashish and 50 kilos of marijuana that were prepared to be sent in packages through the post have been seized.
The Ministry of Finance has reported today that the operation was carried out a week ago on June 9th, after an investigation carried out jointly by Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency in the Canary Islands, and the ODAIFI of the Fiscal Section of the Guardia Civil of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife branch.
The group were using various methods of concealing the packages, such as packing the substances to camouflage their smell or hiding them inside scented candles or food boxes, the report reveals.
In the house searches, which took place in the coastal town of Callao Salvaje in the municipality of Adeje, where three detained British citizens resided, police found hashish tablets similar to those found in the packages, containers of cocaine, ecstasy tablets, bottles with marijuana extract, boxes of anabolic steroids, boxes of Kamagra pills (similar to Viagra), cash, silver bars and vacuum packers, as well as boxes and various envelopes to prepare the parcels.
The fourth person arrested was at a house in Guargacho, a town in Arona, a citizen of Italian-Colombian nationality, where officers also discovered a marijuana plantation and drying room.

The operation was hampered by the fact that the detainees continually changed their address and vehicle, on their numerous trips between England and the Canary Islands, in addition to the fact that they did not have any paid work activity. However, the police achieved full identification of the suspects throughout the months of the investigation.
The operation was developed within the framework of the preliminary proceedings instructed by the Court of Instruction Number 4 of Arona.
