Torres: ‘We are prepared to have 70% of the population vaccinated this summer’

The President of the Canary Islands Government, Ángel Víctor Torres, reiterated yesterday that the Archipelago is "ready and prepared" to achieve the goal of immunizing 70% of the population against Covid this summer. "If they give us the raw materials we need and the supply of the vaccine arrives, I will advance what is undoubtedly the best news: the Islands will achieve immunity against the virus before the end of the summer," he said.

Torres said that in the remainder of March and April, more than 336,000 doses of Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna will arrive to the islands, and "those of Janssen will soon join aswell," which will allow the Health Service to administer between 25,000 and 30,000 doses a day.
