Woman dies after collapsing in the waters off Los Pocillos Beach
At around 3:40pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday), a dramatic incident unfolded at Los Pocillos Beach when a woman, approximately 70 years old, collapsed while in the water. Other beach users quickly pulled her out of the water and initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) manoeuvres in an attempt to save her life.
Despite their resuscitation efforts, which continued for approximately 25 minutes before the arrival of emergency services, regrettably, they were unable to revive her. Upon receiving notice of the situation, medical resources from 112 were activated, which arrived on the scene to provide assistance.
The physician from the ALS ambulance team assumed control of the situation and, after a thorough evaluation of the patient's condition, pronounced her deceased.
This tragic incident has left those present at the beach deeply saddened, and efforts are underway to clarify the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.
