Following the dramatic incident in March, when a car fell into the sea from a ferry traveling from La Gomera to Tenerife, another similar incident happened yesterday (Wednesday) in Canary waters.
It seemed impossible for such an incident to happen again, yet it did. Cameras captured another vehicle submerged in the sea, this time at the Port of La Estaca in El Hierro.
According to footage broadcast by Televisión Canaria, the vehicle belongs to an employee of a local shipping company. The car slid into the water after the owner parked it on the dock without engaging the handbrake, and a sudden gust of wind is believed to have pushed the vehicle into the water.
Video footage shows a boat managing to rescue the car, by towing it back to shore. This surprising recurrence highlights the need to check your handbrake is on when parking vehicles near the water, especially in windy conditions.
