A Boeing 737-700 operated by TUI fly Belgium experienced an incident on Wednesday (January 8th) at Brussels International Airport, when the front landing gear collapsed shortly after landing.
The aircraft, registered OO-JAR, was parked at gate A59 at the time and no injuries were reported.
The aircraft had just flown from Malaga to Brussels without incident, and no technical irregularities were noted during the journey. Fortunately, the plane was unoccupied at the time, as all passengers and crew had disembarked.
Although the plane was scheduled for further flights, it has been removed from service for detailed inspections to determine the cause of the collapse.
Piet Demeyere, a spokesperson for the TUI airline, said: “We will conduct a thorough analysis of the situation in consultation with the authorities, but we can confirm that no technical issues are at the root of this incident.”
The incident highlights the importance of ongoing maintenance and safety protocols in aviation, and investigations will continue to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
