Injured paraglider rescued from inaccessible area near Mirador del Rio in Lanzarote

A 67-year-old man was rescued from a remote and challenging terrain near Mirador del Río in Lanzarote yesterday (Wednesday) after suffering a fall while paragliding.

The incident, reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES), occurred on a mountainous area known for its difficult access

Emergency teams, including firefighters, were swiftly dispatched to locate the injured man. A rescue helicopter played a crucial role in the operation, airlifting the man to safety and flown to the helipad at the airport.

Medical personnel were waiting to treat him and make sure he was stable before taking him to hospital for further care.

The dramatic rescue highlights the challenges of responding to incidents in Lanzarote's rugged landscapes, particularly in areas popular with outdoor enthusiasts.
