Granadilla de Abona Town Hall has taken another significant step towards implementing a dedicated urban transport network within the municipality to improve travel for those in rural and low-population areas.
The mayor, José Domingo Regalado, together with the councillor for Mobility, René Oval, recently met with the operations director of Titsa (Tenerife’s main public bus operator), Ambrosio Hernández, to outline the future public transport routes.
These services are expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2026, with an operational target date set for April next year.
Three strategic routes proposed
The meeting focused on three strategic routes designed to enhance mobility for residents in areas with lower population densities and limited access to existing public transport services.
These proposals will now be studied and evaluated by Titsa to assess their feasibility and prepare the necessary operational plans.
Improved connectivity for residents and visitors
This initiative aims not only to better connect outlying neighbourhoods with the town centre but also to facilitate access for visitors exploring the area, supporting local businesses and heritage sites across the municipality.
Further updates are expected over the coming months as the project advances towards implementation.
