Four people were injured, one critically, in three separate motorcycle accidents that occurred within less than an hour on Saturday in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The first incident happened at 6:11pm when a 38-year-old woman fell while riding her motorcycle along a street in Adeje. She sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Hospital del Sur for treatment.
Shortly after, at 6:39pm, the emergency services responded to an alert informing them of a collision between a car and a motorbike on the TF-5 motorway near La Laguna. This accident resulted in moderate injuries for a 55-year-old woman, who was taken by an SUC ambulance to the Hospital San Juan de Dios after initial treatment at the scene of the accident.
In the same accident, a 62-year-old man was severely injured with multiple traumas. During his treatment by SUC personnel, he suffered a cardiac arrest, which was successfully reversed by the medical team. After being stabilised, he was transported to the HUC Hospital for urgent treatment and remains in critical condition.
Additionally, at 6:49pm, a 43-year-old man sustained moderate injuries following a fall on the TF-21 road, just past the Vilaflor junction heading towards Teide. He was treated by SUC personnel and then taken to the Hospital del Sur for further treatment.
The series of accidents highlights the need for heightened awareness and caution among motorists and motorcyclists alike to prevent such incidents on the busy roads of Tenerife. Authorities are investigating the incidents further to identify any underlying causes and implement measures to enhance road safety.
