A cyclist has tragically lost his life following a fall on the TF-21 road heading towards Teide National Park in the south of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
Witnesses saw the 40-year-old man, of Polish origin, fall off his bike at kilometre 56 on the TF-21 road, and immediately called 112 to the report the accident, prompting the rapid deployment of emergency resources.
Environmental teams were the first to arrive at the location given, providing initial assistance under the guidance of a doctor over the phone. They continued their efforts until the arrival of a medical helicopter.
Upon arrival, the medical personnel from the helicopter found the cyclist in cardiac arrest. Despite performing advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, their efforts were unsuccessful, and the man was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
Members of the Guardia Civil and Canary Police collaborated to secure the helicopter's landing zone and close off the road, while an SUC ambulance transported a medical team from the local health centre to the site. The police have started the appropriate proceedings following the incident.
