A British woman has been hospitalised after falling from a height of four metres off an apartment balcony in Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) the incident occurred at around 1:00pm yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, March 13th.
CECOES dispatched the necessary emergency resources to the location given, and the fire brigade were first on the scene to access the difficult area where the woman had landed.
Using a ladder, they managed to give access to the site to medical personnel, who took her vital signs, immobilised her neck, and applied a splint to her right leg which she injured during the fall.
The holidaymaker was then carried on a stretcher across the awkward terrain by firemen to an ambulance which took her to Molina Orosa Hospital for further treatment.
In the meantime, the Guardia Civil gained access to the woman's room to retrieve her and her husband's documentation, and have opened an investigation into the cause of the fall.
