A British couple was forcibly removed from an EasyJet flight after engaging in a sexual act beneath their coats during take-off, shocking fellow passengers, including a child. Bradley Smith, aged 22, and Antonia Sullivan, aged 20, from Wales, were arrested upon arrival after their inappropriate behaviour was reported by multiple passengers on the March 3rd flight from Tenerife to Bristol.
The couple's actions were described as "X-rated antics," with one teenager telling his mother in horror, "I can see his bits." Despite being confronted by flight attendants, Sullivan initially claimed she was only rubbing her partner's leg. However, other passengers, including a mother and her teenage daughter seated behind the couple, could clearly see what was happening.
The court heard that Smith, seated in 16A, had asked Sullivan, seated in 16B, to perform a sexual act while she covered him with coats. Their behaviour was noticed by the passenger in 16C, who alerted cabin crew. Upon landing, the pair was escorted off the plane by police and later appeared in Bristol Magistrates' Court.
Both Smith and Sullivan pleaded guilty to a charge of public indecency. Judge Lynne Matthews, who presided over the case, reprimanded the pair, stating: "You had no regard for the feelings of other passengers. There was a child sitting behind you who was able to see what was happening."
Smith was sentenced to 300 hours of community service, while Sullivan received 270 hours. The court also ordered them to pay £100 compensation to each of the three witnesses.
An EasyJet spokesperson confirmed that the flight was met by police due to the disruptive behaviour onboard.
