The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has updated its weather warnings for today (Friday), and has subsequently reduced the number of islands that will be affected by a yellow warning.

Lanzarote and La Palma are now the only two islands that maintain their warnings due to strong waves, currents, and adverse sea conditions.

Initially, Aemet had announced yellow weather warnings for Tenerife, La Palma, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and El Hierro, exempting Gran Canaria and La Gomera.

LANZAROTE:
The weather warning came into force at midnight and will last, in principle, until 8:59pm tonight. It will affect the coast of the entire island, where a combined northwest swell with waves up to ​​4 metres high are expected on the coast and offshore.

LA PALMA:
Again, the weather warning came into force at midnight and will last, in principle, until 8:59pm tonight. It will affect the east and west of the island, where a combined northwest swell with waves up to ​​4 metres high are expected on the coast and offshore.
