AEMET activates a yellow weather warning from Wednesday

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) have informed that a yellow weather warning is being activated from midday on Wednesday for strong winds from the northeast that will predominantly affect the western islands.

Tenerife will be the most affected with strong gusts in the south and southeast of the island, as well as the northwest slope of Mt Teide.

Gran Canaria will also experience strong winds at altitude on the exposed slopes of the island, but not so much on the southern coasts.

The yellow weather warning will also affect, in principle, the islands of La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro during the second half of Wednesday, remaining in place until, at least midnight, at the moment.

As always, sea conditions will be affected by the high winds and red flags are expected in the most affected areas, which will be advised of nearer the time.
