Covid update: Canaries registers 166 new cases and 2 deaths in the last 24 hours

The Canary Islands have registered 166 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, so the total accumulated in the islands is now 40,225, while the number of victims reaches 584 after the reported death of two people, one in Gran Canaria and one validated from yesterday in Lanzarote, according to the latest data published by the Regional Ministry of Health this afternoon.

Of the total cases, 5,740 are active (↓207), of which 82 are admitted to the ICU (↓2), 260 remain hospitalized (↓9), while 5,398 are isolated at home (↓196). In addition, 33,901 people have now overcome the disease in the archipelago, after 371 medical discharges in the last 24 hours.

As for the Accumulated Incidence rates, the IA7 for the Canary Islands now stands at 54.61 (↑) cases per 100,000 inhabitants,  and the IA14 is 107.78 (↑). Likewise, so far 864,112 PCR tests have been carried out on the islands, of which 45,267 were positive, representing a total of 5.24% since the pandemic began.
