The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands has notified today of 152 new cases of coronavirus in the Islands, meaning that 42,065 people have tested positive for the virus since the pandemic began. Of the new cases 92 are in Gran Canaria, 48 in Tenerife, 12 in Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote has -1 due to a statistical adjustment.

In addition, two more people have lost their lives due to the pandemic in the archipelago, 613 in total since the first case was registered in Spain, at the end of January 2020 in La Gomera. The deceased are two men, one 78 years old in Tenerife, and the other 53 years old in Lanzarote, this one associated with an outbreak from a family member, and both with previous pathologies.

Although Lanzarote’s has continued to drop, which is no less than 30, the other islands increasing have kept incidence rates at this level.
