Covid update: Active cases in the Canaries are the lowest since 15th December

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health today, there have been 172 new cases of coronavirus detected in the Canary Islands, taking the accumulated total to 41, 012 people since the pandemic began. Of the new cases 78 were in Gran Canaria, 65 in Tenerife, 15 in Lanzarote and 9 in Fuerteventura.

They have also reported of five Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours, 3 of which were in Lanzarote, 1 in Gran Canaria and 1 in Tenerife. With these there have now been 597 deaths in the Canary Islands from Covid-19.

In the same period there have been 420 hospital discharges, most of which were in Gran Canaria (246), which has reduced active cases to 5,233, the lowest figure since December 15th.
