The Canary Islands have registered 237 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, so the total accumulated cases in the islands now rises to 44,625 with 4,221 active, of which 72 are admitted to the ICU and 287 remain hospitalized.
Likewise, the death of four people has been reported, two women aged 82 and 86 years old and an 89-year-old man in Tenerife, and an 87-year-old woman in Gran Canaria. All the deceased are linked to family based outbreaks and suffered from previous pathologies. The total number of deceased has now risen to 644.
The Accumulated Incidence rate (AI) over 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 63.83 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the AI at 14 days is at 129.28 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. To date, a total of 930,017 PCR tests have been carried out on the islands, of which 20,891 correspond to the last seven hours and 4,010 to the last 24 hours.
