It’s not every day that a £250m superyacht docks in the Canary Islands, and it’s not every day they are owned by a British billionaire. The yacht in question is called the Aiva, whose owner is Joe Lewis, one of the major shareholders of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
The Cayman Islands-flagged Aviva is a 98-metre superyacht designed for both luxury living and long-term residence. Built in 2017 by German shipbuilders Abeking & Rasmussen, it is one of the largest vessels ever produced by the company.
The yacht accommodates up to 16 guests in eight suites and houses a crew of 25. Alongside its unique indoor padel court, it features a gym, swimming pool, spa, outdoor cinema, and multiple leisure spaces.
Designed by Reymond Langton Design, Aviva has a sleek, futuristic profile and is powered by a hybrid propulsion system for more efficient navigation.

Lewis, head of the international investment group Tavistock Group, has extensive business interests in property, sport, energy, finance, and hospitality. The current Aviva is the fourth yacht he has commissioned with the same name, reflecting his strong passion for the sea.
It arrived in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Thursday, sailing in from Fort Lauderdale in the United States. Valued at more than £250 million, the yacht reportedly costs around £25 million per year to operate.
A true symbol of ultra-luxury, the Aviva’s arrival has once again drawn attention from onlookers and yacht enthusiasts across Gran Canaria.
