A bakery in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is attracting attention for its unusual handmade desserts, combining striking designs with flavours inspired by the Canary Islands.
Verol Pastelería specialises in artisan cakes and pastries made with high-quality ingredients, with creations ranging from tropical fruit desserts to cakes featuring traditional Canarian flavours such as banana and toasted maize flour.
One of its most distinctive creations is the Pintadera, inspired by the geometric symbols associated with the islands’ indigenous heritage. The dessert combines almond sponge, apricot and passion fruit, banana caramel and a mousse made with toasted maize flour.
Other colourful creations include Mango, made with sponge cake, mango compote and passion fruit ganache, and Coco-Lime, which combines coconut sponge, lime and basil cream, a crispy wafer layer and coconut mousse.

Chocolate lovers can choose the Gianduja, featuring hazelnut sponge, vanilla cream, milk chocolate mousse and hazelnut ganache. Another option, shaped like a rose, combines chocolate sponge, cherry jelly and chocolate mousse.
The bakery also sells a selection of traditional handmade pastries for customers looking for something simpler.

The bakery is open from 10:00am to 7:00pm from Tuesday to Saturday and from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Sundays. It is closed on Mondays.
