The Canary Islands are preparing for a blustery and damp Sunday, as the AEMET forecasts show cloudy skies, light intermittent rain in northern areas, and strong trade winds across several of the Canary Islands.

The strongest gusts are expected during the first half of the day, particularly on the southeast and northwest slopes of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and La Gomera, before easing later in the afternoon. Light coastal breezes are expected on southwest coasts.

Maritime conditions will also be rough, with northerly winds reaching force 7 and occasionally force 8, producing heavy seas and a northerly or north-westerly swell of 1–3 metres, rising to 4 metres along the north coast of Tenerife. Showers are also likely on the north coast of Gran Canaria later in the day.
