Drug mule arrested with 1,000 euros of ‘Pink Cocaine’ in her stomach

The Guardia Civil have detained a 30-year-old woman in the arrival’s hall of Fuerteventura airport, after it was discovered that she was acting as a “drug mule” with over 1,000 euros of cocaine inside her body.

Officers were inspecting passengers who had arrived on a flight from Madrid on February 28th, and due to her nervous and evasive behaviour when questioned, they decided to identify her and carry out a more intensive search of her belongings.

During the search, their suspicions were raised enough to order a radiological examination as they suspected her of transporting illicit substances. For this to take place, she was transported to Fuerteventura General Hospital, where, an unusual object was observed inside her body.

The woman then admitted that she was carrying a narcotic substance in her stomach, claiming it was for personal consumption.

However, it was later confirmed that she had swallowed 13.6 grams of phenethylamine-tussi (a little-known drug commonly referred to as "pink cocaine") and 9.7 grams of cocaine in ‘plastic bullets’ inside her.

Due to this she was arrested and handed over to the judicial authorities of the Duty Court in Puerto del Rosario awaiting trial.
