A 20-year-old man is in serious condition after his car veered off the road in the early hours of Tuesday morning in the south of Tenerife.
The accident happened on the TF-647 by the Cherjos junction in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) received an alert shortly after 3:00am informing them that a vehicle had left the road, with the driver reportedly trapped inside.
Firefighters were quickly dispatched to the scene and worked to free the man from the wreckage. When they had done so successfully, he was treated by SUC medical personnel.
They confirmed that the young driver had sustained multiple serious injuries and stabilised him before he was transferred by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
There are no updates as to his current condition or identity.
