The Guardia Civil has arrested two young men accused of carrying out a violent robbery at an arcade in Santa María de Guía, Gran Canaria, at around midnight on 2nd June.
The suspects concealed their identities with hoods and carried various weapons.
According to an official police press release, the masked men entered the gaming hall wielding what appeared to be weapons and sharp objects, causing panic among both customers and the staff on duty.
Within minutes, they made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the till before fleeing the scene.
Officers from the Santa María de Guía post, in coordination with the Local Police, launched an investigation using footage captured by the venue’s CCTV surveillance system and nearby security cameras.
The analysis revealed key clues, including images of two figures whose physical build and clothing matched the description of the robbers. Their movements also aligned with logical escape routes from the scene.
The evidence gathered, combined with other leads uncovered during the investigation, led police to the suspects who were later arrested and placed in custody before they face sentencing.
