The fashion industry, ever attuned to the changing rhythms of the world, will gather from August 28th to 30th in Moscow for the BRICS+ Fashion Summit, a significant international summit that has grown to be a mainstay of the global fashion calendar.
This annual event brings traditions and innovations from across the globe into one dynamic space, blending cultures and perspectives to strengthen cross-sector connections and explore collaborative strategies that empower the fashion industry to tackle contemporary challenges.
At the heart of the Summit lies a bold vision: creating a decentralised, globally competitive fashion ecosystem that values cultural diversity and harnesses the power of synergy.
Delegates from 65 nations will gather in Russia's capital to further this agenda. Among the esteemed guests are key figures beyond the BRICS nations — including Nichole M. Bess, Founder of Noir Fashion Week; Tonia Fouseki, Founder and President of Athens Fashion Week; and Sergio Puig, President of ACUMOVA and Director of Mediterranea Fashion Week Valencia.
Their participation alongside representatives from China, India, Brazil, Turkey, Serbia, and other burgeoning fashion hubs underscores the truly global scope of the Summit.
“The BRICS+ Fashion Summit provides a valuable forum for dialogue, connection, and strategic collaboration across regions with rich and dynamic fashion ecosystems. Its potential lies in offering visibility to a wide range of creative practices, business models, and cultural perspectives that contribute meaningfully to the fashion economy”, said Bediz Yildirim, founder of Bediz Co. and lecturer at Istanbul Fashion Academy.
Panels will dive into interconnected industries vital to fashion’s future, such as logistics, cutting-edge IT solutions, and sustainable recycling practices. Equally important is the dialogue on safeguarding national clothing markets, a critical issue with potent implications for the global economy. More than a fashion gathering, the Summit will highlight how this creative industry influences international agendas and fosters various areas of international cooperation.
Moscow Fashion Week, among the top five fashion weeks in the world, coincides with this year's BRICS+ Fashion Summit and promises to be a whirlwind of creativity, featuring designers from 10 nations. Among them, Guatemalan talent Mariandrée Gaitán, who previously showcased at Paris, New York and Milan; Brazilian designer Mayari Jubini, presenting renowned brand Artemisi, South African designer David Tlale, known for his glamorous designs; and many others.
