AEMET forecasts persistent rain and heavy showers to start the week

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has forecast persistent rain for the western islands today Monday, with heavy showers expected in the afternoon on La Palma. Temperatures will remain unchanged, and there will be light variable winds predominantly from the north, increasing and shifting to the northwest in Tenerife, La Gomera, and El Hierro.

As for the sea conditions, it predicts north or northwest winds at Force 3 or 4 resulting in rough seas and areas of strong swell. There will be a background swell from the west and northwest with waves ranging from 1 to 2 metres in height and occasional showers.

LANZAROTE:
The sky will be cloudy or overcast, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. There is a chance of generally weak rain during the early morning, possibly more intense in the north. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, with a slight drop in maximum temperatures. Winds will be from the northeast.
Maximum temperatures of 28°C and minimum of 22°C.

FUERTEVENTURA:
The sky will be cloudy, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. There is a low probability of weak rain in the north during the early morning. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged. Winds will be from the northeast.
Maximum temperatures of 27°C and minimum of 22°C.

GRAN CANARIA:
There will be intervals of clouds with predominately cloudy to overcast skies in the north during the first half of the day, with locally persistent rain expected, especially in the foothills. Rainfall is less likely in other areas, with a higher probability in the east.

Temperatures will remain mostly stable, except for a drop in maximum temperatures in northern foothills and summits. Winds will be from the northeast, occasionally strong on the southeast and northwest slopes, with prevailing sea breezes on the southwest coast. In the highlands, winds will be generally light from the north.
Maximum temperatures of 29°C and minimum of 23°C.

TENERIFE:
There will be intervals of clouds with predominantly cloudy to overcast skies in the north during the first half of the day, with locally persistent rain expected, especially in the foothills. Rainfall is less likely, generally weak, in foothills in other areas.

Temperatures will remain mostly stable, except for a drop in maximum temperatures in northern foothills and summits. Winds will be from the northeast, intensifying in the southeast and far northwest in the afternoon, with prevailing sea breezes on the west coast. In the highlands, winds will be light from the west.
Maximum temperatures of 28°C and minimum of 22°C.
