A car overturns at the entrance to Tenerife South Airport
In an incident earlier today, Thursday, a red car, believed to be a rent-a-car, as it came off the motorway heading towards the entrance to the Tenerife South Airport. The driver of the car, who only sustained minor injuries opted not to be taken to a nearby health centre for treatment.
The accident was reported to the Emergency Services at 1:35pm this afternoon by members of the public, and CECOES dispatched the relevant services including an ambulance as they said the man needed treatment.
When paramedics got there, they found that the man was out of the car, visibly shaken, and had cuts and bruises from the accident. After initially assessing him and recommending he go for treatment, they had to get him to sign a release form because he refused their offers.
The fire brigade was also at the scene and made sure the car was safe so that highways maintenance could clear the road whilst the Guardia Civil coordinated the traffic into the airport.
