Police arrest man with cocaine hidden in his shoe in Granadilla
The Guardia Civil in Granadilla de Abona in the south of Tenerife, have arrested a 42-year-old man, who is a resident of the municipality of Arico, for the crime of drug dealing.
The incident took place when agents approached an isolated vehicle in the parking lot of a restaurant, which suddenly reversed to elude them but they blocked his exit and he stopped. Whilst stationary in the car, the man started to make suspicious movements in the lower part of his seat as if hiding something.
Once he had got out of the car and shown the officers his identification, the agents noticed that the man seemed very nervous and was avoiding putting all his weight on his right leg when he was walking, which after a superficial search, they found six bags of cocaine inside his shoe.
Because of this discovery, they proceeded to further search him and his car, and found 437 euros in cash, two knives, and a piece of paper that contained names of people and prices of what appeared to be a sales record for the drugs. Both the man and the relevant police report have been passed over to the Judicial Authorities at the Granadilla courts for sentencing.
