Over 60’s can be vaccinated this weekend without an appointment

The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands is making an appeal for all people over 60 years of age who are residents in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, who are registered in the health system, and who have not yet been vaccinated, to go this weekend with their DNI/TIE/residencia and their health card to get vaccinated in the centres set up on the two islands between 10.00am and 5.00pm without an appointment.

This is to give a new boost to the vaccination of the population in this age group and ensure that no-one misses out, as there are many people, of all nationalities that they have data for, but can’t contact.

The SCS says that maybe some people have changed their contact details and haven’t updated them with the health authorities, maybe some people have returned to their own countries, or maybe some don’t speak Spanish and the appointment wasn’t confirmed or understood when they were contacted.

Regardless of any of these situations, if you fall into this age group and haven’t been vaccinated yet, then you can go to the Recinto Ferial in Santa Cruz or the Magma Centre in Las Americas (Adeje) if you are in Tenerife, and Infecar in Las Palmas or ExpoMeloneras in San Bartolomé de Tirajana if you are Gran Canaria, and be vaccinated straight away.
