Hunt for Anna and Olivia Day 21: New clues found at fathers house?

Hunt for Anna and Olivia Day 21: New clues found at fathers house?

It is now three weeks since Tomás Gimeno and his two daughters, Anna and Olivia, aged 1 and 6, disappeared in Tenerife on April 27th. The alarm was raised by their mother, Beatriz Zimmerman, after Tomas had the girls but failed to return them to her at the agreed time, so she went to the finca where he lived to see if she could find them. Not finding them there, she reported the case to the Guardia Civil, which is working in search of new clues to find the whereabouts of the three of them.

Yesterday, investigators re-searched the house of Tomás Gimeno, where he lived after separating from the girl’s mother, for the fifth time to try to find clues to his whereabouts and that of his daughters. However, the key to finding them could be in their first search, when two details caught their attention, a roll of industrial bin bags and a area of disturbed earth.

According to Antena 3's Espejo Público TV program, agents were surprised by the state of the house as it was untidy, there were dirty dishes, unswept floors, clothes thrown on the floor, dirty bathrooms, and dust everywhere. They also found a roll of bin bags, the strong type used by gardeners for waste, but it made no sense that they were inside the home and even less that they were so new.

You could tell someone had just bought them, and when agents counted the number on the roll and compared it with other rolls they found, they realized that several were missing. What did he use them for? Are they linked to the whereabouts of Anna and Olivia? Were they used to take clothes or belongings?

The second element that caught their attention, because it was out of the normal pattern of dirt and neglect, was outside on the land that surrounds the house. The land is very neglected, overgrown with a lot of weeds, the garden destroyed and dry plants. But not all of it. A small area of the farm has recently been dug up and the soil turned over. The sniffer dogs seem attracted to this patch, so have they found some sort of biological trace of the girls?

At this stage no more is known and the dog’s search of the area has brought no further results. The bags will be compared with CCTV footage of Tomas loading packages onto his boat, and the area of ‘disturbed’ land will be further analysed over the next few days.
