The Adeje job centre will manage all vacancies at new Leroy Merlin

Adeje council and Leroy Merlin have signed a working agreement with the aim of improving job opportunities in the municipality. With the agreement in place, the Adeje department of employment, via the borough’s job centre in the CDTCA, will be managing any job opportunities in the new store, which is due to open in September, for the next two years.

For Adeje, this means a chance of direct employment for up to 130 people, as the company will be using the list of those registered as unemployed, and those registered as job seekers in Adeje, to find people who meet their employment needs.

For its part, the Adeje job centre will collaborate in the selection process, by facilitating interview offices, etc, so that Leroy Merlin can advance the selection procedure.

Leroy Merlin will commit to letting Adeje know about job vacancies and the qualifications needed to fill each post. The council will then advertise the positions and give the company access to the Adeje Global database, with the authorisation of those currently seeking work.

In no way, and at no time, does this agreement compromise any contract offered to an employee by Leroy Merlin directly, who have the final say regarding who they hire. There is also no financial gain in this agreement, neither for the company nor the council.
