Wizz Air has announced its biggest-ever expansion in Spain, offering 10 million seats across its network this year, a record figure for the airline. The Canary Islands are set to benefit in particular, with capacity growing by 28% compared to last year.

The airline currently operates from Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Fuerteventura, flying a total of 15 routes to 10 destinations.

For 2025, it has already surpassed the milestone of one million seats to and from the islands. Since starting operations in the archipelago, Wizz Air has carried more than 3.5 million passengers.

Between March 2025 and March 2026, Wizz Air will launch 35 new routes linking 16 Spanish airports with cities across Europe. Among the highlights are new connections from Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, and Seville to London Luton, strengthening travel between Spain and the UK.

Other new destinations include Gdansk in Poland and Skopje in North Macedonia, giving travellers even more choice at affordable fares. The expansion has also cemented Wizz Air’s leading position on routes such as Spain–Rome, where it now offers the largest seat capacity on the market.

So far in 2025, Wizz Air has operated more than 29,000 flights in Spain, which is a 17.5% increase compared to the same period last year. In total, it has transported 6.4 million passengers, reflecting year-on-year growth of 22.4%. The airline also reports a reliability rate of 99.8% and a 16.6% improvement in punctuality.
