Two female tourists run over in the south of Tenerife

Two women needed medical treatment after being run over by a car in Playa Las Americas in the south of Tenerife last night, Friday, as reported by The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

They received an alert at 6:35pm reporting the incident on Calle Noelia Afonso Cabrera, which is the road that runs from the Columbus Hotel to the Zentral Centre, requesting medical assistance.

The two injured women are a mother and daughter who are on holiday in Tenerife, the 17-year-old daughter suffered a ‘moderate’ head injury and was taken to Hospiten Sur hospital which is just around the corner from the site of the accident.

Assuming there are no complications she will stay and be treated there, if not, she will be transferred to Candelaria for further specialised treatment. Her 40-year-old mother was also admitted to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the incident.

The Guardia Civil are carrying out the relevant reports surrounding the cause of the accident and the driver responsible.
