Siam Park wins the 'Oscar' of amusement parks!

In a dazzling ceremony held at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, Siam Park, located in the south of Tenerife, won the prestigious 2024 Applause Award, often dubbed the 'Oscar' of the global amusement park industry. This remarkable achievement was revealed on Sunday during the gala hosted by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), where the industry's best were honoured.

Notably, this year marked a historic moment as the IAAPA Honours and the Applause Award were presented together for the first time, celebrating excellence and innovation in the entertainment park sector.

The Applause Award, an international accolade bestowed by Liseberg, a major theme park in Gothenburg, Sweden, is granted every two years to the amusement park that has "inspired the industry with insight, originality, and strong business development through its management, operations, and creative achievements."

Initiated in 1980 with the recognition of Disney World's Magic Kingdom, the award has celebrated the best in the industry worldwide every two years. Siam Park now joins this prestigious cast, hailed as the world's top-rated water park for its quality and innovation.

The Pinnacle of Excellence

This accolade adds to Siam Park's extensive list of achievements, including being named the Traveller’s Best of The Best by TripAdvisor customers for the ninth time in 2024, the world's largest travel portal. The park has also secured the European Star Award for Best Water Park in Europe twelve times and three editions of the Park World Excellence Award.

Christoph Kiessling, Vice President of the Loro Parque Group, emphasised the significance of the award, stating, "For us, this award holds special importance as it comes from our own sector, recognising the tremendous effort we maintain at Siam Park to constantly innovate with the highest quality standards, always striving for excellence."

The award, designed by Swedish sculptor Astri Taube, features a bronze statue of two hands applauding in a perfect recreation of the applause for success. This recognition holds great importance as it is bestowed by the amusement park industry itself, applying the highest standards of scrutiny across all evaluation areas, and honouring a park whose management, operations, and creative achievements have inspired the industry.
