Roadworks begin on the TF-662 in Tenerife south with traffic jams for two months

The Tenerife Cabildo have confirmed that they are carrying out improvement and rehabilitation works on the TF-662 road in Arona from now until April 24th. The road, that runs parallel to the TF-1 Motorway, is the one that links the TF-66 by the Guaza junction to the Monkey Park.

The improvement works have been divided into two sections: the first section spans from Guaza to the petrol station on the ‘back’ road (PPKK 0+000 to 2+177), and the second section stretches from the petrol station to PPKK 2+177 to 2+314.

Dámaso Arteaga, the Councillor for Roads, stated that the project, with a budget of 1.3 million euros, involves a complete rehabilitation of the road surface. As the surface drainage works progress, traffic disruptions will be shifted, and information personnel will be stationed at cutoff points. Therefore, Arteaga urges users of this road to exercise maximum caution.

The project, which entered the bidding process in March 2023 for the improvement of TF-662, is part of the planned actions by the Island Council to enhance safety and mobility on the island's roads.

It is worth mentioning that other rehabilitation and safety improvement works are also underway in Arona on roads TF-652 and TF-653, with a total cost of two million euros.
