Multi-car pile-up in Lanzarote leaves 5 injured

Five people, including an 11-year-old child, were injured following a serious multi-vehicle collision on Lanzarote’s LZ-40 road on Saturday afternoon. Emergency services rushed to the roadside after the crash, which left several people with serious injuries and caused major disruption in the area.
The accident happened at around 3.30pm, involving several vehicles. A large emergency response was activated, including ambulances, firefighters, Guardia Civil officers, Local Police and Civil Protection teams.
Firefighters were forced to free two occupants who became trapped inside one of the vehicles following the impact.
Three men, aged 30, 34 and 52, suffered multiple serious injuries and were stabilised before being taken by ambulance to Hospital Doctor José Molina Orosa in Arrecife.
A 45-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries, while an 11-year-old child suffered minor bruising and was also taken to the same hospital for treatment and assessment.
Emergency crews worked for several hours to treat the injured, manage traffic and clear the damaged vehicles from the road. Security forces have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision.
