More rain showers across parts of the Canary Islands this Sunday
Rain will continue to affect parts of the Canary Islands today, Sunday, particularly in the northern and mid-altitude areas of the mountainous islands, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Skies will start mostly clear but will become increasingly cloudy throughout the day, with light rain expected and potentially persistent showers inland in Tenerife and the western islands.
Temperatures will rise slightly, and winds will remain generally light and variable before shifting to a northerly flow from midday.
At sea, conditions will be unsettled, with west to south-westerly winds of force 2 to 4, easing to variable force 1 to 3 at times. Slight to moderate seas are forecast, along with a north to north-westerly swell producing waves of 2 to 3 metres, occasional downpours, and reduced visibility.

GRAN CANARIA
Mostly clear, turning cloudy in the north and partly cloudy elsewhere from midday. Light rain is likely in northern areas during the afternoon. Slight temperature increases in the south-western midlands, with little change elsewhere. Light variable winds increasing and shifting to northerly later in the day.

TENERIFE
Mostly clear with some afternoon cloud on the southern and western slopes. Cloudier in the north during the morning, with rain expected from midday, possibly persistent in mid-altitude areas. Slight temperature rises in eastern and western midlands; otherwise stable. Light variable winds increasing and shifting to northerly from midday.
