The Canary Islands will experience a mixed weather pattern today, Wednesday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET). A band of high and medium clouds is expected to move across the archipelago from west to east, bringing the possibility of light, sporadic showers, especially during the first half of the day. Following this, the northern areas will see intervals of low clouds, while the rest of the islands are expected to enjoy mostly clear or partly cloudy skies.
A slight drop in temperature is expected for Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and the western islands, while Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will see little to no change in temperature.
Winds will predominantly come from the northeast, with occasional strong gusts expected along the southeastern and northwestern slopes of Tenerife, the western islands, and Gran Canaria.
At sea the wind will blow from the northeast at force 4 or 5, potentially increasing to force 6 along the coasts of all islands except Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. This will lead to moderate to rough seas, with a swell coming from the north, reaching heights of one to two metres.
Scattered showers are also possible towards the end of the day, particularly in Tenerife and the western islands.
