The Yaiza Town Hall has announced the postponement of all Las Breñas Carnival events due to an unfavourable weather forecast expected on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st March.

The celebrations will now take place the following week on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th March, as long as weather conditions improve in Lanzarote.

In addition, the local authority has ordered the suspension of all outdoor leisure, sporting and cultural activities across the municipality from 3:00pm today, Wednesday 18 March. Federated competitions are the only exception to this measure.

Officials are urging residents and visitors to follow all pre-alert and alert advisories relating to heavy rain, strong winds, storms, and adverse coastal conditions. The public is also encouraged to adhere to safety guidance issued by the relevant authorities.

The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety during the anticipated period of severe weather.
