Horizon Worlds and Second Life were the two emptiest Metaverse of 2022

Horizon Worlds and Second Life were the two emptiest Metaverse of 2022

Forecasting the Meta Metaverse to position it in a highly attractive place for Internet users and other metaverses, seems to be a difficult job for the world's biggest social media company.

The amount of money invested in Horizon Worlds, the Metaverse of Mark Zuckerberg, has not given the required results regarding the number of users who have their virtual worlds. The official platform of bitcoin code is one of the renowned cryptocurrency exchange platforms, where you can buy and sell cryptos to make a profit.

So, what is Horizon Worlds?
It was created by the old social network Facebook, now Meta, as the platform’s first Metaverse, which can only be entered currently if you are in the United States or Canada, which have both been selected as pilot countries to carry out the immersion tests of Internet users.

To enter this virtual world of Meta, you must have Virtual Reality glasses, specifically those created by the company called Oculus Quest, which allow Horizon Worlds users to enter and, through their avatars, interact virtually with other participants. To date, this concept is not linked with decentralized finance, cryptocurrencies, or blockchain.

According to the Journal newspaper, the number of avatars created and registered in this virtual reality universe hasn’t yet reached 200,000 and with only a couple of months of testing left, the number of users is declining.

The most repetitive behaviour among Horizon Worlds users is to enter the Metaverse, but in less than a month, they are withdrawing, maybe due to the small number of users interacting.

These figures are undoubtedly causing Meta to be alarmed, even though Metaverse is in its infancy, according to the ambitious projects not only of this platform but of many large companies that make up the Big Tech sector.

The main competition to Horizon Worlds is Second Life which is generating a considerable number (350,000) of new accounts monthly.

What is Second Life?
Created in 2003 by Linden Lab, Second Life constitutes a virtual world in 3D form, which to date is occupied by millions of users promoting this type of virtual reality software.

In this virtual reality world, users can carry out activities similar to everyday activities, such as instructional activities, from the perspective of electronic games.

In this VR space, cities, and geographical areas, including the representation of real slots, are virtually represented, but in virtual reality, where the avatars can move and carry out any number of activities like those they carry out in real life.

Not even Meta employees are attracted to its Metaverse:
The Metaverse of Meta is full of controversy since it has not met the market's expectations, to the point that not even its workers are attracted to the virtual reality environment, which has raised alarm among its managers.

The principal opinion is based on a common expression: "if at home we don't love what we do, how can others love it," as with Horizon Worlds, if its creators do not get involved, how can they expect external users to do so?

It could indicate that expectations have not been met, which leads to the dissatisfaction of all parties, both the company and the customers or users.

Conclusion:
The audience results are a pretty controversial aspect; consequently, Zuckerberg has been the primary spokesperson for the creation of the Metaverse and its impact on the use of technology in the future, and the way of doing things from a remote and virtual perspective, but, at present, it does not seem to have given the expected results.

Expectations for Horizon Worlds have been relatively high, but the fact that once inside the virtual world, people prefer to leave and their return to digital spaces does not materialize effectively; on the contrary, they do not enter again, is a big blow to the developers.
