Heavy rains in the eastern islands and strong winds on Tenerife peaks this Thursday

Following the heavy rain and electrical storms, that particularly the islands of Tenerife and La Palma experienced yesterday (Wednesday), the cold front is moving east and will affect Lanzarote and Fuerteventura today. According to the forecast from AEMET, it will be generally cloudy in those two islands with strong rain and occasional storms at the beginning of the day.

In the western islands, some occasional and weak rain is not ruled out and very strong gusts of wind are expected in the central peaks of Tenerife, and Gran Canaria is expected to have some rain and possible storms as the front passes over the island.

There will be few changes in temperatures and a strong westerly wind affecting the south and west coasts, but only breezes on the east coasts.

Sea conditions will be precarious with strong swell and current, and bathers are advised to respect the flags on beaches. Sunset will be at 6:11pm
