The Canary Islands will experience cloudy weather in the northern parts of the more mountainous islands, with moderate northeast winds today, Friday, according to the latest forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
Light rain is possible in some areas, but in general it will remain mostly dry. Temperatures across the islands will see little change, with moderate winds being the main feature of the day.
The southeast and northwest slopes of the islands may experience occasional periods of stronger winds, while Tenerife’s high-altitude areas will see moderate winds from the west.
At sea, there will be moderate northeast winds ranging from 20 to 40 km/h (Force 4-5) on the northern coasts. These winds may occasionally reach up to 50 km/h (Force 6), resulting in rough seas.
Along the southern and western coasts, lighter winds (Force 1-3) will bring calmer waters, with slight to moderate waves expected. Swell from the north will bring waves of 2 to 3 metres, though this is anticipated to decrease later in the day.
Cloudy intervals are expected in the north and west, while clearer skies will dominate the rest of the island. There could be some light haze at higher altitudes. Temperatures will remain stable, with moderate northeast winds.
Expected temperatures: High of 28°C and a low of 21°C.
Similar to Lanzarote, Fuerteventura will see cloudy intervals in the northern and western regions, with clearer conditions elsewhere. Light haze is possible. Temperatures will stay consistent, with moderate northeast winds prevailing.
Expected temperatures: High of 27°C and a low of 21°C.
Cloudy skies in the north, with a low chance of light, scattered rain this morning. The rest of the island will be mostly clear, and temperatures may slightly drop in some areas. Winds will remain moderate, with stronger gusts expected on the southeast and northwest slopes.
Expected temperatures: High of 26°C and a low of 22°C.
Clear skies are forecast for high-altitude areas, particularly on Mount Teide. The northern parts of the island will be cloudy with a small chance of light rain in the early morning. Conditions are expected to clear later in the day, except in the Anaga region (northeast). The south and west coasts will experience more cloud. Temperatures are expected to remain stable, with some minor drops in the highs.
Expected temperatures: High of 28°C and a low of 22°C.
