The Spanish Met Office (Aemet) are forecasting a change in weather conditions for today, Friday, with clouds and light rain expected to develop over Tenerife and the western islands as the day progresses. In contrast, the eastern islands will see mostly clear skies and calm conditions.

In the central highlands of Tenerife, strong southwesterly winds are expected, with the possibility of very strong gusts after midday, especially around Mount Teide and other elevated areas. Temperatures will remain mild across the archipelago, with little change in daytime highs but a slight drop in nighttime lows.

At sea, conditions will be generally calm, with north or northeast winds (force 2–4) and variable breezes closer to the coast. A northwesterly swell of 1 to 2 metres is forecast.

Sea conditions will remain calm for coastal activities. Temperatures: Slight drop in overnight lows to 20°C, with daytime high of 26°C.

TENERIFE
