Cooler temperatures and strong winds expected in the Canary Islands this Tuesday

The Canary Islands will experience a notable shift in weather conditions today (Tuesday), with cooler temperatures and strong winds affecting various regions according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

The islands will see slight temperature drops in inland areas, accompanied by moderate northeasterly winds with strong gusts in coastal and low-lying areas of the northwest and southeast of the mountainous islands, as well as in the inland regions of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. These conditions are expected to be most pronounced during the first half of the day.

The sea will also be affected, with northerly or northeasterly winds producing wave heights of 1 to 2 metres. Additionally, there will be a significant swell, with waves increasing to a strong swell offshore in many parts of Canary Island waters.

Weather Forecast by Island:

LANZAROTE:

The northern part of the island will experience cloudy skies early and late in the day, with intervals of clouds expected during the central hours. The remainder of Lanzarote will be mostly clear or sunny, with increasing cloud cover towards the end of the day. Temperatures will remain relatively stable. Winds will be moderate from the northeast, with possible strong intervals in inland areas during the early morning.
Temperatures: High of 29°C and low of 22°C.

FUERTEVENTURA:

Expect mostly clear skies with some cloud cover in the north and west of the island during the beginning and end of the day. Temperatures will see minimal change. Northeasterly winds will be moderate, with strong intervals expected in inland areas and the southern slopes of Jandía, particularly in the early morning.
Temperatures: High of 27°C and low of 21°C.

GRAN CANARIA:

The north of the island will experience cloudy intervals, particularly early and late in the day, with a chance of occasional light drizzle. The rest of the island will be mostly clear or sunny. Coastal temperatures will remain stable, while inland areas will see a slight to moderate decrease.

Moderate northeast winds will include strong intervals in coastal and low-lying areas of the southeast and northwest, with locally very strong gusts possible, especially in the early morning. Breezes will affect the southwest coast, with variable light winds in the mountain peaks, shifting to moderate westerlies by the end of the day.
Temperatures: High of 28°C and low of 22°C.

TENERIFE:

The northern part will experience cloudy intervals with a predominance of cloud cover early and late in the day, with occasional light drizzle possible. The middle of the day will see clearer skies, except in the extreme northeast. The rest of the island will be mostly clear, with some morning cloud cover on the southwest coast.

Coastal temperatures will remain stable, while inland areas will see a slight to moderate decrease, more pronounced in higher elevations. Moderate northeast winds will include strong intervals in coastal and low-lying areas of the southeast and northwest, particularly in the first half of the day. Breezes will be present on the southwest coast, with moderate westerly winds at the central peaks, and occasional strong gusts in the latter half of the day.
Temperatures: High of 28°C and low of 22°C.
