Cloudy skies and light rain forecast in the Canary Islands this Monday
AEMET are forecasting cloudy conditions and the chance of light rain across parts of the Canary Islands this Monday, particularly affecting the eastern islands (Lanzarote and Fuerteventura) and the north of the more mountainous ones (Tenerife and Gran Canaria).
Temperatures are expected to show little change, remaining stable for the time of year. Winds will be moderate from the north-east, with strong intervals in exposed areas of the mountainous islands and gusts occasionally along the coasts of the eastern islands.
In the summits of Gran Canaria, very strong gusts cannot be ruled out during the afternoon. Light sea breezes are also expected along the south-west coasts.
Sea conditions
At sea, AEMET forecasts northerly winds of force 4 to 5, producing mainly moderate seas. Along the south and south-east coasts, winds will be lighter and variable, with calmer sea conditions.
A north-westerly swell is also expected, with wave heights of 3 to 4 metres, which may affect coastal conditions, particularly on exposed shores.

TENERIFE
Cloudy in the north with likely light, persistent rain that could be locally moderate in mid-altitude areas. Elsewhere, mostly clear, becoming cloudier on the western side from early morning, where light rain cannot be ruled out. Temperatures with few changes, though light frost is possible at higher elevations. Moderate north-easterly winds, with strong intervals in the south-east and west. Sea breezes along western coasts.
General temperatures: Low of 16°C and high of 22°C.
GRAN CANARIA
Cloudy in the north, with likely light and persistent rain, locally moderate in mid-altitude areas, especially during the morning. Temperatures stable. Moderate north-easterly winds, with strong intervals in the south-east, west, and summit areas, where very strong gusts are possible later in the day. Sea breezes along the south-west coast.
General temperatures: Low of 17°C and high of 22°C.
LANZAROTE
Cloudy overnight and during the first half of the day, with a low chance of light rain. Skies are expected to become clearer in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain stable. Moderate north-easterly winds, occasionally strong in the west later in the day.
General temperatures: Low of 14°C and high of 21°C.
FUERTEVENTURA
Mostly cloudy intervals with a low probability of occasional light rain. Temperatures with little change. Moderate north-easterly winds, at times strong along eastern and western coasts during the afternoon.
General temperatures: Low of 15°C and high of 21°C.
