The Canary Islands are set to experience mostly clear skies today (Monday), with occasional low cloud cover expected in the northern parts of the islands during the early morning and later in the day. The heat and light dust haze will persist, with temperatures possibly seeing a slight increase, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
The south of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, along with the islands of Fuerteventura and La Gomera have an active yellow weather warning today due to high temperatures that could reach 37°C locally.
According to AEMET, the alert will be active from 10:00am until 8:00pm, mainly affecting the Tejeda basin and inland areas facing west, south and southeast of the four islands.
LANZAROTE:
Expect mostly clear skies with occasional low clouds in the northern areas during the early morning and late in the day, along with occasional mid and high clouds. Light dust haze is anticipated. Temperatures will remain stable. Northeast winds will be moderate, occasionally strong in the southern interior.
Temperatures: High of 31°C and low of 22°C.
FUERTEVENTURA:
Mostly clear or sunny, with morning cloud cover along the coasts and occasional mid and high clouds. Light dust haze is expected. Temperatures may remain stable or rise slightly, potentially reaching 34°C in the south. Northeast winds will be moderate with strong intervals in the southern Jandía region, particularly in the early morning and afternoon, with gusts possibly exceeding 70 km/h.
Temperatures: High of 34°C and low of 23°C.
GRAN CANARIA:
Cloudy intervals in the northern and eastern lowlands, with clearer conditions in the middle of the day. Mostly clear or sunny elsewhere, with occasional mid and high clouds. Light dust haze will be present. Temperatures will see minor changes, with slight increases in maximum temperatures on southern slopes, reaching 34-36°C, and potentially exceeding 37°C locally.
Nighttime lows in these areas may stay above 26°C. Winds will be moderate from the northeast with occasional strong gusts and very strong gusts possible in the southeastern and northwestern slopes. Coastal areas on the southwest will experience breezes, and highlands will see light, variable winds.

TENERIFE:
Cloudy intervals in the northern lowlands with clear skies in the middle of the day. Mostly clear or sunny elsewhere, with occasional mid and high clouds, and possible development of clouds inland during central hours with a low chance of showers.
Light dust haze may be present in the south of the island. Temperatures are expected to remain stable or rise slightly, with highs of 34°C in the southern and southwestern interior reaching 37°C locally. Northeast winds will be moderate with occasional strong gusts on the southeastern and extreme northwestern slopes. Coastal areas on the southwest will experience breezes.
