Bargain shop in the Canaries with toys, furniture, and appliances from just €5
In today’s climate, where saving money has become part of daily life, bargain-hunting is booming. Across the Canary Islands, one low-cost chain has gone viral for its almost unbelievable deals: furniture, household appliances, and toys for as little as €5–10.
The buzz began after a TikTok video by user @adrianglzmora admitted he visited out of curiosity after repeated recommendations.
“Everyone kept telling me I had to check out MGI. I had FOMO, so here I am to see if it’s really that good,” he said.
His footage showed shelves stacked with wall units, mirrors, pet beds, and vases, all priced at €10. Other products, such as glass jar sets, were available for €10 for four pieces or €15 for six, often selling out within hours.
The real surprises, however, came in the kitchen aisle. “A hand blender for €10. I think the kitchen appliances are where the difference really shows,” he explained. Viewers also saw kettles at the same price and steam irons for €20, with microwaves and air fryers offered for just €50, a fraction of what they would usually cost in other shops. Summing up his experience, he remarked: “I was surprised by the prices, almost everything is between €5 and €10.”
The appeal of MGI lies in its ultra-competitive pricing on household basics, leisure items, and kitchenware, making it a go-to destination for Canarian residents and tourists looking for affordable home essentials.
MGI’s presence in the archipelago has grown rapidly, with stores now established in several key locations: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Telde, La Laguna, Las Chafiras, and Añaza in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
While TikTok has played a major role in fuelling its popularity, word of mouth has cemented MGI’s reputation as the leading discount store chain in the Canary Islands. With prices rarely exceeding €50, it is fast becoming the first stop for those furnishing a home, refreshing the kitchen, or picking up toys without breaking the bank.
