A motorcyclist has died after leaving the road on the TF-1 motorway near Güímar in Tenerife this morning (Thursday). The fatal crash happened at around 11:45am at kilometre 22 of the motorway, prompting a major emergency response and causing disruption to traffic in the area.

The Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) received the alert and immediately dispatched emergency services to the roadside. Responders included medical teams from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), the Guardia Civil, Local Police, Tenerife firefighters and road maintenance personnel.

Due to the seriousness of the incident, SUC also sent a medical helicopter, a fully equipped ambulance and an advanced life support ambulance. The helicopter landed directly on the motorway in preparation for a possible emergency evacuation.

Firefighters and police officers secured the area, assisted medical teams and managed traffic while the emergency operation was underway.

When paramedics arrived, the rider was in cardiac arrest. Despite prolonged resuscitation attempts, medical staff were unable to revive him, and his death was confirmed at the scene.

The incident is the latest in a series of serious motorcycle accidents reported on Tenerife's roads in recent weeks. Earlier this month, a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a collision on the TF-1 near Los Cristianos, while another rider died after a crash involving a car on the island.
