AEMET shares stunning image of rare cloud formation over the Canary Islands

The Spanish State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has shared a breathtaking photograph of an unusual atmospheric phenomenon captured in the Canary Islands.

The image, posted on AEMET's social media profiles earlier today (Tuesday), showcases a striking cloud formation that appeared in the Canary skies on Monday afternoon.

“A spectacular shot of yesterday afternoon’s cloud formations over La Palma. This one was sent to us by our collaborator from station C137F Mazo Rosas,” AEMET stated in its post.

The remarkable cloud pattern, consisting of two parallel bars and another formation over the summit, occurs when westerly winds sweep across the islands. These meteorological events, though rare, highlight the unique atmospheric conditions often observed in the Canary Islands, making them a frequent subject of interest among weather enthusiasts and photographers.

The image has captivated social media users, further showcasing the natural beauty and dynamic weather patterns of the archipelago.
