€84,000 stolen in armed robbery at shopping centre in Maspalomas
Armed robbers stole around €84,000 yesterday morning (Friday) during a violent attack at Centro Comercial Ronda in San Fernando de Maspalomas, Gran Canaria.
According to early reports, employees from a cash-collection company were targeted while handling money from the shopping centre.
The workers were not wearing uniforms at the time, and the attackers threatened them with knives before fleeing with the cash.
The National Police are investigating how a group, believed to consist of at least three robbers, managed to carry out the assault using two stolen vehicles, which were later found abandoned.
Officers are now working to identify the attackers and establish the full sequence of events. Police sources say the investigation remains open and more information will be released in due course.
